Many religious organizations are open and accepting of diversity and have provided leaders in fighting for the rights of diverse populations. As a small percentage of the overall population, discussion about gender variant people is still fairly new, especially in a manner that is not sensationalized. We can provide not only education but can facilitate group conversations to address concerns and questions that both leadership and congregation members may have.
People may interpret their religious teachings in many ways of what is right or wrong. The value of our presentations is not to take sides, but to explain what the experience is for people who are gender variant – their feelings, their struggles, their choices and perhaps the results of those choices when they choose to live in their authenticity.
